چکیده

Melatonin (MT) is involved in physiological processes plants under abiotic stress. In this study, we investigated the effects of melatonin on maize photosynthetic and antioxidant capacities salinity Our findings indicated stress significantly inhibited growth. However, exogenous MT promoted growth capacity. Superoxide dismutase, peroxidase, catalase increased by 138.8, 38.7, 32.0%, respectively, while H2O2 malondialdehyde decreased 23 31%, respectively. Exogenous also improved photosynthesis Net rate, transpiration stomatal conductance 134, 67.2, 46.3%, Maximum quantum yield PSII photochemistry, effective photochemical quenching coefficient, electron transport rate 5.8, 70.4, 65.3, 41.0%, Therefore, our suggested ameliorated adaptation stress, thereby providing helpful guidance for cultivation areas high salinity.

Exogenous nitric oxide (NO) ameliorates salinity-induced oxidative stress in tomato (Solanum lycopersicum) plants

Nitric oxide (NO) is involved in numerous physiological and stress responses in higher plants. Tomato is one of the most important vegetable crops in the world and previously it has been reported that salinity induced an oxidative stress affecting its redox and NO homeostasis. Using tomato plant exposed to 120 mM NaCl, it was studied whether the exogenous application of NO could ameliorate the ...

Melatonin Improves the Photosynthetic Carbon Assimilation and Antioxidant Capacity in Wheat Exposed to Nano-ZnO Stress.

The release of nanoparticles into the environment is inevitable, which has raised global environmental concern. Melatonin is involved in various stress responses in plants. The present study investigated the effects of melatonin on photosynthetic carbon (C) assimilation and plant growth in nano-ZnO stressed plants. It was found that melatonin improved the photosynthetic C assimilation in nano-Z...

Exogenous γ-Aminobutyric Acid Improves the Structure and Function of Photosystem II in Muskmelon Seedlings Exposed to Salinity-Alkalinity Stress

Gamma-aminobutyric acid (GABA) is important in plant responses to environmental stresses. We wished to clarify the role of GABA in maintenance of photosynthesis in muskmelon seedlings (Cucumis melo L., cv. Yipintianxia) during saline-alkaline stress. To this end, we assessed the effect of GABA on the structure and function of the photosynthetic apparatus in muskmelon seedlings grown under salin...

Melatonin Supplementation Ameliorates Energy Charge and Oxidative Stress Induced by Acute Exercise in Rat Heart Tissue.

BACKGROUND Regular physical exercises may help people to be more resistant to everyday problems; however, how acute and intense exercises affect the heart tissues functioning with maximum capacity and how melatonin changes the effect of acute and intense exercises are still not obvious. We aimed to comprehend whether melatonin intravenous injection supports the oxidative/antioxidative condition...

Effect of Melatonin Premedication on Some Physiological Parameters and Reduction of Oxidative Stress in Tagetes etecta Seedlings under Salt Stress

Salinity is one of the most important environmental stresses which affect the growth of plants. Most of the plants are sensitive to salt stress at the seedling stage, so the growth of them in salt-water accompanies with problems. Various agronomic and physiological practices (treatments) are applied to minimize the adverse effects of salinity on plant growth and using of plant growth regulator ...
